5.6L Nissan Titan talking crap
While I was studying tonight a guy kept ragging on me, telling me how he would spank me in his 5.6L Titan. I told him I thought I could probably take him, and to be honest I would think I would walk him with my mods. Am I right or what? He's stock as far as I know.
"All Titans come standard with a 32 Valve 5.6L engine, VK56DE, which generates 317 hp (305 hp on 2004-2006 models) and 385 ft lb.ft of torque. The Titan has a fully boxed ladder frame and is available in either rear wheel drive or a shift on the fly four wheel drive system coupled with a 5-speed RE505A automatic transmission. An automatic brake limited slip (ABLS) is available on all Titans. The Titan is available as a King Cab or a Crew Cab with a full size back seat; no regular cab is available.
Curb weight 5,038 lb "
I mean, I should be making well over 317 to the wheels. I thought it was a no brainer but he seemed sure he would wax me.

As a previous owner of a Titan (2004) and a previous owner of 2008 Mustang GT.. I can promise you it wouldn't even be close. The Mustang would have no problems win- stock vs stock. The Truck has about the same HP as the GT, but weights over 1000 more lbs.
Now, I don't know the official stats. But I've been in both seats, and I'm not seeing it being all that close.

I raced one a while back, find some of my threads that I posted to see the results. Depending on the work they can be a handful, but since I was able to beat one that was drastically modded I'm sure you can handle this fool. Whoop his ***

ya if he's stock he's toast, the one I raced has h/c/I full exhaust, tune, gears, cai, tuned transmission. He surprised me off the line but eventually I reeled him in. When I swapped to a 91 tune it got even worse for him. Do you know if he's on titantalk.com?

Not true, this coming from someone who owned one. A tune such as bullydog or an exhaust will net this. I did 15.1 stock with a 2* timing advance and nothing else. The 13' s are possible but UPREV tune, a mild cam & exhaust are needed.
