Default MSP3 vs S4 & LS1

Hey guys, i have a couple runs lined up and was wanting to see what your thoughts are on what the outcome will be.

One run will be against a 2005 Audi S4 V8, awd, catback only with a decent driver. (3800+curb 340hp/300tq 13.7-13.9 @101-103)
He said he does not want to do a dig because he does not like to strain his tranny, so i am trying to get him to go from a first gear roll at least to keep the awd in his favor.

Next run will be against a 98 trans am auto with a fresh LS1 that was installed with under 10k miles. Not sure of mods ( i know, that leaves way too many variables to consider) but i am thinking he is close to stock since he just had a new engine put in.

I will do a couple digs, and a few 40 rolls to 120+. I expect to be walked from a roll, and killed from a dig.

I have learned to launch my car fairly well, and though it does not really compare to the cars i will be going up against, i can out launch my friend in his launch control, DSG '12 GTI.

I will video runs, thoughts??

the faster you go with that B6 S4, the worse its going to get for you. he can actually pull on an LS1 up top.

both should get you up top. simple as that. may not be much of a pull from either, but they should still pull.

I disagree, I don't see that V8 S4 touching that LS1 up top. Talking about a 100-101 mph car vs a 105+ mph car.

Op, I think you have a chance against the S4 from a roll. Not so much with the Elis Juan.

I ran a mazdaspeed when I was still near stock (lid/FRA), pulled him pretty hard actually.

I trapped 109.33 with those mods (108.59 stock). I believe ms3 trap just over 100 stock? Trying to remember what speed we started at but I'm pretty sure it was a low roll with me putting a few cars between us by the century mark.

I think i can put my nose out front once we get over 100mph, i am just waiting for him to have time to meet up.

I would say 100mph is the norm, people have hit 101mph traps, but those were in perfect conditions. What is the average trap for the f-body ls1's? I see yours was 108+. If his is running that strong it's going to be ugly for me lol.

Average traps are 105 I would say. They are all over the place though.. I was only trapping 105 stock when I ran during the summer (da 2500+). One day I had a best trap of 104 with 103s being normal.. Da was just over 3000 ) In good DA the lowest it trapped was 107. Majority of the time I've seen a stock fbody run here (rarely do we get perfect conditions) the trap has been 104-106 (including autos).

I pulled on one of those before in my bolt on NPI auto. lol

They really arent that quick, low 14s seems to be the norm and probably weaker up top with the AWD.
