Default predictions?? 2009 RT AWD Charger mods

last time out, I only had a canned tune/mechanically stock car.

Ran a best few runs of 13.2@104mph, 1.8 60 fts.

Averaging 13.3@103mph, 2.0 60 fts.

mods now:

180 T stat
Diablo Custom tune
4 inch cold air intake
3500 FTI high stall torque converter
235-50-18 high performance summer tire
3.23 gear

track is sea level.

My guess is a solid 13.0@104mph

3 tenths is pretty good for no real power adders.

I tested out the launch on the street for fun..

and this thing DEAD HOOKS!

holding the brakes, and quickly blip the throttle.. the tach needle SHOOTS to 3500 instantly and it takes off like I am from a low roll!

Traction FTW! Gotta love AWD and the torque of a 5.7

i'd think youd pick up more than that. the cai/tune will hopefully be worth some mph and the converter should help the launch quite a bit which really helps e/t. So i'm gonna say 12.8's@106

lol I hope I can get it to launch as hard as I can without wheel hop.. the transfer case hates it!

I can be in RWD mode and roast the tires for a brief moment before the front axle kicks in and engages the front wheels.. it'll throw a code since it can't catch up to the rears rofl

Luckily, I can just keep it in AWD mode by pressing a button so it's all good.

Did you run your Cobra yet?? That thing must be a real beast

Im with greddy... you should crack into the 12's after those mods, which is still very impressive. Not wasting any time throwing mods at it!

Boy I hope so lol

I still have another week before I head out there.. I want to still get a pair of AMG Blue top shift solenoids and a Mopar TCM to really bang out the gears.

The Blue tops (same ones in the Mercedes AMG sports cars) increase line pressure for (dramatically) increased shift firmness, and the Mopar TCM is a completely reworked transmission control module that is calibrated for more aggressive driving, plus it locks up the converter in 2nd gear.. no more loosy goosy around town!

This converter is top notch

Have you made it out to the track lately?? we've been getting rained out for the last friggin' month! Doh!

It's been in the 100's this area the last month or two. Too hot to run.

I'm going with 12.8@105. I'm thinking the converter is going to get it done.

At least a 3 tenth gain from the stall, up to a half second. 12.8s all day. Should trap 1-3 mph quicker as well.

This new converter really is bad *** with all the low end torque and AWD.

I highly suggest FTI torque converters. This is my 2nd converter from them & 2nd car. Not sure if they make them for Mustangs. Great feeling around town. Slips, but not so annoyingly loose... flashes QUICK to 3500, stays there if I power brake as well

I am also doing AMG Blue Top shift solenoids this week, before I head out there. That really should get the shifts blazingly quick as well as firm it up dramatically.

I hope I do get into the 12.8's at least, that would make it about as quick as the new 392 Charger/Challengers (12.6/12.7 but at 111/112mph).
