2000 civic si....

This.. there's two things that sound fishy, the willingness to bet 500 and the 220 wheel.. I'm willing to bet it's making a lot more than that. Being around the boosted world for awhile, most boosted B16 Hondas are putting down near 300 wheel good for 11 sec runs.. If he has any engine work done, I would be expecting it to make over 300 wheel. With weight reduction it wouldn't take much to kill a newer 5.0.. However, it would be a stupid race for him in an 1/8th.. A small displacement turbo car has the advantage in the 1/4 or longer.. I've seen plenty of 300+ Civics run crappy track times but pull on 500 wheel Cobras..

I don't think he is being honest about his whp.
so.... run a tune and tires and beat him at his own game hehe (as long as it's from a dig and only lasts to 100mph)
yeah quick search on the internets has several running high 11s, stock motor turbo, more norm might be low 12s, i dunno.

Very important question.... what tire is he going to be on? The answer could very well be a deal breaker, for either side.....
If hes on a street tire, it'll take the whole 8th to finish spinning, lol....

At the track Friday there was a built/gutted 600 whp civic hatch. He told me he runs 10.5s and averages 1.9-2.0 60fts, but his highest trap was 149 mph. He was on fat slicks too. He said when bracket racing he usually just chases everybody down on the back half of the quarter. Lol.

If he is wanting to put $500 on it, i would expect that he is not being honest on his cars hp. 220fwhp, even is a 2600lb car is pushing it to say he can beat a 5.0 in the 1/8th.
Back when i had my new edge, my buddy had a '05 ion redline, they were underrated and dynoed 220ish whp stock, and weighed 2800lbs. His only mods were drop in filter, and in my stock new edge from a dig it wasn't even close. We would have to get up to about a 50mph roll before he could give me a run, and new edge's suck from a roll.

Compared to the New SI's the 2000 SI's are nothing but a regular civic. Haha. And the new are nothing in stock forum.
