Default Rockin down the Strip!!

Heres the question,

does lowering your car make your 60' better?

I lowered my car and my 60' dropped a few tenths, not sure if im gettin better at driving or if it really helped. The problem is I have the frpp P springs and the car rocks back and forth going down the track, almost looks like i have hydros hahaha.

Im thinkin about puttin the stock rears back on but i dont wanna go through it to find out its slowing me down hmmmmmmm what to do

Are you on slicks? I dont think the springs would causing rocking, id suspect your wheels or tires, especially if slicks.

sidewall soft on those? I think its normal for slicks or soft sidewall tires to feel floaty. never have had any myself, but i would expect it. What psi do you run?

I think what you're referring to is what we call "porpoising" down here. Is the car rising and falling like a porpoise or dolphin swimming when you shift? Time for some suspension work. Check my sig for some ideas.

Sounds like you're just driving faster. Lowering the car doesn't usually make it 60-foot better.

But that rocking motion going down the track is mostly caused by the horrible factory shocks. Good adjustable shocks like these Strange 10-way adjustable shocks will allow you to adjust that out and give you quicker more consistent ETs:

Lowering springs won't improve your 60's. They don't allow the suspension to travel like it needs to for a good launch. My guess is the tires and seat time are what caused you to lower your 60's. Like others have posted...get some good adjustable shocks and you will notice a nice improvement.

For a cheap little drag race spring set up secret. Get some v6 front springs and put your stock GT rear springs back in. Ya won't have the "cool" lowered look of lowering springs, but your et's at the track will improve. Just my. 02

Strange adjustables will take care of that issue.

some of the bobbing around might be slow shifting also other then the suspension.

I've always been told if your front end drops at all, your shifting tooooo slow.
