Default '12 v6 vs '04 gt

Just setup a run for this evening. The car is a full bolton car: accufab tb/plenum, jlt cai, bbk maf, lt exhaust, 3.73s, tubular kmember, 315 dr, t56 swap, bama 93p tune.

my mods are in my sig. should be right at 300-310whp. Im hoping to be ona dr myself. will probably go from a 20ish roll, dig too if possible. we will both have riders so there will def be vids plus a gopro vid.

what do yallseehappening? ifhesnot more then a car out by then, i think my 3rd and 4th will eatem up...

Money is on the 3.7. Of course I'm slightly biased. :-P

Does CAI and full exhaust really add 20-30 RWP? Either way, my money is on the 3.7L. That car is heavier, but putting more to the wheels than the 04 does to the flywheel.

That 300-310 is purely a guess/hope. With the same mods as me, plus d/s and flywheel,my dad put down 296 in his '11v6. (but no 2.5in catback, just mufflers)

BUT, with cai/tune/gears/mufflers, he dyno'd 7-8 less than I did with the same mods, minus the mufflers. Lol, basically, Im just bench-dynoing. But according to other cars with similar mods, yes a full longtube/no cat/2.5in exhaust should yield 20ish hp.

Edit: Heres a pic with the longtubes and stock manifolds..... you tell me if I gained from the swap

Freaken California....I wish I could run LT's. Not sure who will win, hes going to have better TQ but you have more HP and less weight....should be a good race.

Put them on and swap them off for smog five years from now.

Pisses me off, not only does your V6 make the same amount of power as my Cobra, it responds better to simple bolt ons.... Yeah, I would say you gained.

We get smog checks every other year not every 5 years. Besides I don't have the room to store my OEMs right now even if I did get LTs. But I have thought about it ALOT. haha

Nope, new cars get a six year exemption from smog (unless you bought the car brand new from out of state). After six years, you have to smog every other year. Even then, you just need to find a shop that'll pass you on the visual because I'm sure the car will still pass the sniffer with LTs. There are plenty of shops out there, you just have to know the right people.
