Really? This is nice to hear becuase I've always owned automatics in the past that would get walked by their manual transmission counterparts. Nice to know the game has changed with this 5.0

Just recently at the track, there was a bone stock '12 gt vert running 12.8's @ 110-111 all night. It's going to come down to your friend getting the shift points right every time, which is where you will have the advantage, imo.

Yes, 100% stock, and a vert at that. It was in the high 40's, and the DA was in the neg by the end of the night.

The days of autos being slower than manuals are a thing of the past. No reason at all that a 6 speed automatic wouldn't be just as quick as a manual. It should be faster really.

The only reason a manual would have the advantage in this race is less drivetrain loss and less weight. They're both 6speeds so gearing isn't too far off. But if your car has a 3.13 and his has a 3.55 or better then that's another disadvantage. I think from a roll the stick car should be a tad quicker if he can nail the shifts. From a dig I'd give you the advantage. Good luck and make sure you get us some vids! Lol

The OP says the stick car is a 3.31 geared car.
