Default 2009 Charger R/T

Ok guys, I have an uncle who owns a 09 Charger R/T AWD. Ever since I bought my Mustang he's been telling me how much faster that land yacht is. I've been telling him, I'm sure it's a fast car, smiling and nodding. But I've pretty much had it. Every time I say, "maybe we should just run them then", his wife glares at him (its actually her car), or he's had a couple of beers and doesn't want to race (now that one I understand).
He says he raced a new 5.0 and blew it away, I call bs on that one, either the guy didn't know they were racing, or spun out on street tires. But since then he just knows that his car is the fastest thing in four wheels.
From what I've read, the Charger is going to do 0-60 in 5.9-6.1 seconds. I know my car is faster than that, somewhere around 5.1. His 1/4 mile time is barely going to be 14 seconds if he's perfect.
So back me up, or tell me I'm all wet. I've been launching really hard, and I like to think I'm an OK driver. Chances are he's never going race, but I still like to know.

If its not modded you have nothing nothing to worry about, considering the mods in your sig and if you can drive.

I owned both a 2012 and 2009, both AWD, one with only a 3200 stall (13.3@100mph) and one modded NA last year (ran 12.8-12.9's on the dot, every run) then supercharged @ 5 psi (12.1@112mph, 12.3@111 average).

A stock 09 runs about 13.6-13.7's. I was running 13.2 with only a canned tune last year, with 1.9 60 fts., then dropped it down to 1.8 with a 3500 stall.

They're quick for 4500lbs. because of the 5.7 and just about 400 lbs. of torque.

The AWD, stall and custom tune does amazing things for those cars.

I have to say, these results are not typical because I put some time choosing the right mods for the car, some/most folks would not do unless they normally modify cars.

No problem

I also owned a 2008 Mustang GT that was NA at one point and identical to your mods list, though mine was an auto. Best time in that car were 13.3@103.

My Charger would have spanked it with a little more than a stall and custom tune lol

What's your uncles number? I'll sell him my old 4 inch cold air intake and Diablosport intune. Even with just a custom tune, throw in a 180t stat, adjust the fan settings and he'll be running low 13's without breaking a sweat..

But if I give you his number, he gets modded, then I have to go Whipple. Turns into a whole thing.

true.. but then he'll have to get a drop in SRT-8 392 and long tube headers for the price of your Whipple and necessary drag radials.

low-mid 11's on street tires.. NA

It is, until he gets a blower

Honestly, it takes really deep pockets to mod those cars.. exactly why I got away from them.

If you are a good driver, you have nothing to worry about, especially with a manual trans and 4.10s.

Having owned both cars, the weight of the Charger is simply something that cannot be ignored. 1,000 lb. difference is A LOT of weight between the cars, plus the Charger is stuck with 3.06 gears and a lazy trans which not a lot of people can mod correctly even though I have..

just race the bastard and shut him up lol

Worst part about the whole situation, he used to be a Mustang guy. Now he all of a sudden thinks that Chrysler hung the moon.
