No way Stone, Greedy, Bluebeast...
Just a friendly where I started and where I stand now thread. Stone, Greedy, Bluebeast and a couple other guys on here are hitting 11's (and some cases tens) on a regular basis. No way they went to the track their 1st time (or did you) and hit those numbers. This is open to everyone...So here you go:
1. What was your 1st 1/4 mile time at the track?
2. What make and model car were you driving?
3. Did you win?
4. Most importantly, what's your current fastest 1/4 mile time?

How far back are we going? First time ever? I will start there and revise if needed.
1. What was your 1st 1/4 mile time at the track?
First pass ever...14.2 @ 98mph on a 2.2 60ft... next pass was a 14.1 @ 97 on a 2.1 60ft and that's all I could get in that night. DA was 1951 (13.799 @ 99.302 MPH corrected).
I even have the slip

2. What make and model car were you driving?
1995 Camaro Z28 A4 3.23 Bone stock.
3. Did you win?
Wasn't racing anyone in particular...test and tune night.
4. Most importantly, what's your current fastest 1/4 mile time?
12.8 @ 110 on a 2.0 60ft (Stock tune, LS6 Cam, Lid/FRA were only mods)

1. 14.0x @ 102.xx
2. 2006 Mustang GT with cold air/tune
3. Yes, it was test/tune and ran another MFer in another GT. He ran 14.8 spinning and wheel hop.
I think I am going to take the Shelby to test/tune Fri night, but I suspect it's not going to be pretty with these 4.10s and street tires
Question???? I have to buy a helmet..........does it have to be full face shield?

I mostly run 1/8 mile, so I will include those numbers too
1. What was your 1st 1/4 mile time at the track?
Ran 9.20s in the 1/8th... With no other changes I ran 7.90s after I learned to tune and drive it. First 1/4 mile was in that car... Went 12.40s@108
2. What make and model car were you driving?
1986 Buick T-Type
3. Did you win?
First 1/4 mile yes.... First 1/8 mile no
4. Most importantly, what's your current fastest 1/4 mile time?[/QUOTE]
11.25 @ 135 on a bad pass. Best 1/8 is 6.83 @ 108, which should be good for 10.50s. That's on drag radials, driven 1.5 hrs to the track. Going back this Saturday, so hopefully have some new 1/4 mile numbers to report.

Interesting topic for a thread, Soldier.
My 1st pass ever was in 04 or 05 I think. I was in a bone stock 04 A4 GTO. Ran like 20 passes that night, pretty much back to back. No fukn clue what I was doing, started at 14.2ish and beat it down to a 13.9 by the end of the night. It was something like 35 degrees that night and we stayed until 4am running. I modded that GTO with a tune, full exhaust, and some DRs and ended up with a best of 12.8 at 109 several months later. That was when my priorities pretty much went to hell and I started dropping money left and right on cars/modding.
20+ cars later, I am sitting at 11.6 at 118.5 in this SS. It is the quickest car I've owned, but the kicker is that I actually ran slower ETs in cars with more power (like a procharged Z28). It all came down to practice and lots of reading/listening to others. Wish I knew then what I know now, but oh well thats life.
I'll be honest, I've learned more about this **** right here on this forum than anywhere else over the years.

You can tell who the old geezers are just by the car they were making there first pass in. I've never got beaten so much as when I owned that Iroc. A 1986 Type-t was almost a secret weapon back in the day.
