N/A VP 110 Racing Fuel ??
 
Hey Guys,

I'm participating in a local dragrace event.
I'm in a N/A class, 3.7liters up to 6.2liters.

The track is not a professional track. I have some traction issues and the best time i could reach so far is 13.52 (on Nitto 305 NT05R's ). The fastest car in my class put down a 12.86 (stripped interior, racing fuel, semislick tires).

For the race which is on the 24th i'm stripping the interior, removing the spare tire and using 15" racestar wheels (rear + skinnies) and 28 x 11.5 Hoosier Quicktimepro tires.

My tuner advised me to use VP 110octane racing fuel. We we're planning on just adjusting my Brenspeed 93octane tune (Timing, WOT A/F ratio etc.) I do have a FAST wideband/datalogger so i'll be able to keep an eye on the A/F ratio.

Whats your opinion on this (using racing fuel) ?
Has anyone ever used VP yet on a bolt-on otherwise stock engine?

I might be talkin out my arse here but doesn't anything above 101 or 105 still contain lead?

I've never heard of someone NA running race fuel. Normally you only need higher octanes to prevent detonation. Forced induction cars use it because they naturally run hotter due to compression and they may want to run more advanced timing (more compression). What's the ambient temperature where you are when the race is taking place?

Very high compression NA engines like race fuel. A low compression stock motor wont benifit from race fuel.
