first burn out
Ok guys, I've had my car a couple months now and just did my first burn out. I was beginning to think that maybe something was wrong with my car as a newer lancer beat me from a dig a couple weeks ago (don't know if it was a turbo or not). But to be fair I wasn't ready and kept it at idle before takeoff and it sounded like he was revving it pretty hard before he went. After a short distance I didn't even try. Anyway, today I was at the light with not much traffic and thought I'd give it just a little spin, but I smoked them about half way through the intersection! It was easier than I thought, but not going to make a habit of it as I want the tires to last. Just hope sometime I get a chance to line up with that black lancer again and see what happens when I'm ready.

Well, if you're racing, you might want to consider not starting the race from an idle. If you're spinning, you're not winning either.
Lastly, I like to think of the TCS button not as "Traction Control System", but rather "Tire Conservation System".

Try it with AdvanceTrack completely off, lol. I raced a friend of mine this weekend from a dig and I decided to go with no traction assist at all. I got into the skinny pedal heavy from the start. Smoked the tires in first gear, then kept smoking them to about 5K RPM in second. It was fun as hell, but needless to say I lost the race.
The point of this story? These coyote motors have gobs of power, but require a good deal of skill to master the skinny pedal. Too little input and you lose, too much and you end up with black snakes while still losing.

Gotta Stick the wheels at launch buddy. If you can burnout prior to launch then you will
1. Heat them up and make em sticky
2. Stick and grab when you do launch
3. Totally intimidate the other guy on the ricer
Or
Just screw it up and look like a weiner...not a winner
