Default Procharged Trans AM WS6?

Kind of a loaded question since their reputation proceeds them, but just how quick would an LS1 be with Long tube headers, high flow cats and a Procharger D1SC... low boost.. I don't know.. 8 psi??

Seen this bad boy just pop up.. these cars are so hard to come by and at an extraordinary price. Looks to be a garaged summer only toy..

Do they put down about 550whp with 8 psi?? the LS1's hold boost well just as any other production block??

dang it.. I wish it was this one for sale..

not that would be a dream come true!

I don't think low to mid 500s on a D1SC would be that far off. Lurk on the LS1Tech forums, tons of info on there.

I say F1A or YSi though if you HAVE to go the blower route... I'd be all over a turbo LSx.

deff will be in the 475-550 whp area depending on boost. 8psi I'd deff think low 500's atleast. Are you thinking of picking it up?

i didn't see anything in the add where it says it's procharged. If not, that price seems quite a bit high to me for a stock 02.

Just considering it. The car is so rare and in this condition we never see them around. They could sell it for $18k and some yahoo will still buy lol. It's not Procharged, just contemplating it. I haven't seen one this clean .. ever

I had a 98 Z28 with a D1SC years ago. It made right at 500 RWHP on 9 pounds with full exhaust, etc. Car never really ran right, sucker ate every transmission I put in it including a built perfomabuilt. Its better to build an LSX to run hard NA first imo, add FI later if its still not enough.

my friend just did this same EXACT build to his 2002 SS (same car) and it made 560 wheel on a mustang dyno on 10 psi.. low to mid 500's isn't out of the question for one of these on 8-10 psi.

My main concern is the manual trans and the rear end. I don't mind the rebuild with forged or built internals as I can just do it on my weekend, full shop and tools. I just don't want any surprises. I may just run 4.10's, slicks and skinnies, long tubes.. just for kicks. Parked in the winter obviously. I learned my lessons! Gonna grab a Jeep for that...
