Finally getting a chance to run my coworkers 02 ss this weekend, weather permitting. We're working a car show where we're taking our dyno to, he'll be putting his car on it first thing which is the same dyno I put my car on so we'll have a decent comparison for hp. But then after the show we're gonna do a couple rolls.

His car consists of an 02 ls1 m6, stock shortblock and stock untouched heads, trex cam, fast 90 intake/tb, longtubes, full exhaust, self tuned, spec 3+ and liberty built t56, custom driveshaft, 9" rear with 4.10's, 275 555r's.

He's talking all sorts of smack about how he's gonna put a whoopin on me. He wants to race me without spray which I'm ok with. But I'm thinking I'll put 1-2 cars on him. What's everyone elses opinions?

Well, you already know what I think, but I'll post my thoughts for others...you will murder him. With stock heads and that cam I'll be shocked if he is over 400 rwhp. That 427rwhp he claims are cammed ls2 numbers. I ran a TA with those exact mods in my old SS (243s, small cam, stall) and put over 2 cars on him from 50-120 mph. He made 380 something to the wheels IIRC. And with your current set-up being considerably faster than my old SS, I have no doubt in my mind that you will but more than 1-2 cars on him. If he had a good set of ported heads or even some milled 243s I think he could stay within 2 cars if you, but not as it sits, no way.

Lol I'd love to do better than my expectations, I just dont want to go in expecting too much haha. I will be putting my boost only tune in which is another 3 degrees of timing over my normal tune so we will see. I cant wait to get this race done. If he beats me I'm pulling the blower off on sunday lol.

I've told him about your car and show'd him our runs numerous times, He just keeps saying "yeah well my cars a beast so I'll get ya!!".

I'm positive it would take a max effort HCI LS1 to beat you! Even then I bet it would be very close! If he is so sure he can beat you then you should ask him to put a little wager on it lol! Easy money for you

Hmm... trex with an M6 can make some numbers... 440rwhp from SMOKIN01TA on ls1tech... (obviously with full bolt ons and tuning)...he also runs low 10s at around 130 though so its the extreme end of the spectrum. That said I don't know this guys setup so Im guessing you have it but those donkey dick cams can make some power.

That Trex cam is only marginally bigger than the one I'm running, and he has stock heads to boot...I'll tell ya this boy is in for a rude awakening lol!

A lot doesn't add up with that set-up. 440 cam only LS1.. low 10s at 130 with 440RWHP. I just don't see any of that happening. He has gotta be leaving out a good bit of info. Weight, heads, etc.

Agreed. 440whp and low 10's means he must have a ridiculous race weight, like sub 2800 lbs. think about it my car weighs 3450ish and has 501whp and is a full second slower than that Camaro.
