Default Hellcats in!!!

After what seemed like forever we finally got our hellcat in! It's the challenger, automatic car. black on black and looks sick! Fat, but sick. Unfortunately we didn't get it until the end of the day so dyno numbers will come first thing tomorrow. But that leaves us plenty of time to make some guesses!

One thing to keep in mind, is earlier this year we had a pre-production car come in that was a manual trans and that made 65x. Cant remember the exact number. So with this being a normal unit and auto I'm gonna guess 638/568.

The worst part about all this, are the tracks are all closed :'( Really sucks for me as I want to drive it so damn bad!

I'm gonna guess 639/569!!!!!!11

Assuming the auto puts down anywhere within a ~20 range of both figures, are the transmissions just that efficient or did Dodge really underrate the crank figure? Even with the manual, putting the rwhp figure at 650 and figuring only 10% drivetrain loss still rates it at 722 crank, above the 707hp rating.

With a car of that power level stock, is there really any benefit to the usual bolt ons like exhaust work or a pulley swap/tune? Because I doubt they left much of anything on the table.

All the dodges as of late have been very close number wise between auto and manuals. If you compare the new 6.4's, the manual cars make 430-440, autos are 420-430 and even the jeep with auto and awd are right around 400. But yes I think the 707 is deff underrated!

As far as bolt ons, I'm not sure but ofcourse we'll find out.

Sorry I forgot to update this! the car made 643/573 in normal mode, and in valet mode(you get a different key to enable this) it made 468/485. Not sure when we'll be able to get to tune it yet. Being a new dodge it'll have all sorts of passwords to crack in the pcm.

Gotta remember, they weigh 4550 lbs. so that's like 289whp in a 3200 car.

I have this fantasy about building up a modern day Hemi 440.. supercharged with a proper blower (2.3 Kenne Bell), built trans/t-case/suspension and putthin' a hurtin' on HellCats left and right. Nothing personal, just for the bragging rights.

Average Blue collar guy, general line tech, drunk on the weekends, car broke.. yet still enough to take on and beat any HellCat out there..

Thanks

Gear Head without a Cause.

I wish someone told me beforehand, the money is designing and engineering the cars, not fixing them lol

Looking forward to seeing some of those HellCats running at the track.. lol if they're like 12.5@120mph!
