What's your opinion on the 6.0 we were talking about in a previous post? I just don't want to drop any in displacement. I'd gladly drop in a 6.0 if it was a true drop in engine, mounts right up etc. and for $1,500 lol. I'd just bench build that bitch and be alllll goooood
The 4.8 and 5.3 are stronger than the LS1 due to a shorter stroke, and the 4.8s have flat top pistons, also like you said lower compression. All that along with stronger rods and whatever else I'm forgetting. The LQ9/LQ4 are excellent choices and make crazt power as well, NA or FI. Only two things keeping me away from them is the weight and the price. They used to be really cheap, but now everyone wants one, so theres that, lol.

I seen a few 5.3's online for $500-600 like you said

I wouldn't mind going that route and running an On3 turbo kit.

I read some reviews on it and it seems to be pretty good..

What do you think about this kit??

great price for a great looking kit

So tired of seeing $7-10k turbo kits online for other cars I have had!!

The point of the 5.3 is simplicity, but I can't help but to think about a forged rotating assembly if I were to ever go that route.. seems like a waste not to at that point..

Beware the on3 kits are never as simple as throw it right on and go. I've been talking closely with a guy who installed one on a mach as I've considered it. I may still do it I dunno i have a couple things on the table right now. But expect to have to fit the v bands and replace all the clamps and couplers etc.

Ditto.. I have been following some older threads and there is quite some fabrication involved but no deal breakers. Still can't believe I can find the Vortech 6.0's for $1,000 online (!). I wish I knew all of this sooner!

Finally got a pass in. Went 12.93 at 108.9 on a ugly 2.0 60'.

2nd pass went 12.82 at 108.9, 2.00 60'. Not bad for a 14 year old $3500 car!

Hell yea low 12s easy. The cruising gears in it now are horrible. Have the same ring and pinion in the V6 and can't do better than a 2.1 sixty. A low 12 second car will put it to about 90% of the street cars that show up on Friday night grudge racing.
