Yea, I can't believe they use such tall gearing in any of these types of cars, but especially a damn Z28.

Speaking of the 90%..the 90% there today were a joke. Blue, you would've lost it man. At least a dozen coyotes there, and not ONE broke into the 13s! I'm talking stalling on the line, missing gears, literally leaving like they just pulled out of the church parking lot, etc. It was bad. It wasn't just the 5.0 guys though, all the street cars were an embarrassment. There was a clean white Integra running mid 11s at 129mph and a C5Z running low 11s at mid 120s that were impressive.

2nd pass went 12.82 at 108.9, 2.00 60'. Not bad for a 14 year old $3500 car!
Tell me your secret to launching! Lol

Same up here. Garage queens or cruisers don't make good racers since they're not exercised enough! Ran 13.3's all day in the lardo Chancho everyone else running 14's makes me only look better lol

ROLL into the throttle. No stabbing. No flooring it. Just take off like you would aggressively leave a stoplight. I do go around the water box with street tires and all, do a quick 2 second burnout to pick up the track (might not even help) but outside of that street tire launching is just like the street. Just gotta be easy on her man. It'll still turn a good ET, trust me.

What did yours trap? One other thing I forgot to suggest to you when running your Z28. Never run it in O/D, always drop it down to "D". Its not going to happen through the 1/4, but going into 4th gear under WOT is usually when a 4l60 says "*** this" and starts to deteriorate . When you lose 4th, you lose 2nd gear as well being they run off the same servo. Its just a good habit to get into to so if you're ever out on the highway doing pulls, you'll naturally drop it down and lock it out of 4th.

Sounds like you were at my track day lmao. Do you remember that c5 I told you about a couple months ago with a stock shortblock that made almost 700whp with a f1d? He was at the track, on an 18" et street and right off the line just floored it and spun like crazy every time, then wondered why he ran mid 11's.

102 mph or was it 104? Maybe 105, It was decent I remember. Sheets are somewhere, gonna find it.

What's the proper way to go into O/D in our cars? Roll race situation.

we must be cut from the same cloth because my 08 Mustang/10 psi used to do the same thing. I wondered why other guys were running high 11's to my 12's flat lol

there's no safe way to go into overdrive on an auto when at wot. Do it too many times and it'll wipe out the o/d band then you wont have it at all anymore.
