Bud that's why you GOTTA do the 5.3! For less than $7 grand total you could be making big numbers and hurting feelings with a turbo kit and slicks.

That's what my buddy had in his ta last fall. went 12.20's with a 4k stall, full exhaust, frost tune and a tire. I dont even think he has gears in it.

I've got my eye out for a good deal on one. That guy with the 4.8 is being weird. He'll text me, then not respond for 5 more days..kind of over that guy. Ordered some 3.73s though, so those are on the way.

I managed a 12.2 on the stock stall, 3.73s, tune, full exhaust, and street tires. I wonder if the car would've been faster with a bigger stall, slicks, and bigger cam and stock heads vs the H/C, 2800 stall set-up it had.

I thought about doing gears but I just did a two hour road trip and I only used about a 1/4 tank of gas. I kinda like the 3.23 gears in that sense. Acceleration is pretty decent as well..

3.23 is a good gear. I swapped the 3.23s in my SS to 3.73s and did drop a couple tenths off my ET, picked up 2-3 mph as well..but if you're happy with it I'd leave them. You're not going to lose more than 1mpg in reality though.

3.73's and the stock stall still hook with street tires?

I think I figured out the launch a little better. Tap the throttle to make the rear end dip a little then nail it once I get the wheels spun a little.

Sounds like a pretty big difference with gearing alone. The ring and pinion in these cars must be easy to swap as well.
