I think I figured out the launch a little better. Tap the throttle to make the rear end dip a little then nail it once I get the wheels spun a little.

Sounds like a pretty big difference with gearing alone. The ring and pinion in these cars must be easy to swap as well.
No, lol. Doesn't hook with 2.73s or 3.23s either, so it just takes a little finesse or change in method is all.

Yep, thats how its done! Just get that rear down and start feeding the throttle.

Its a big difference. Gives a mechanical torque advantage and gets into the power band that much quicker. Easy...nope. No gear swap is easy imo. Takes some know how to get them spaced right or they'll howl and whine so loud you'll wish you never messed with them.

I never driven a decent geared auto with 3 speeds before (OD locked out)

I was worried my 1st and 2nd will be very short leaving 3rd like a wide open gear til 135mph from 65mph, that would be a little weird

Ditto on the install. I haven't done many but I didn't mind the ones I did.

Kinda switching gears a little but what's a decent street/strip cam with a nice lope?

Got the 3.73s in. Big difference to say the least. Glad I went ahead and got it done too since both carrier bearings were toast. Diff oil was full of metal. Hoping for a 12.4-12.5 on street tires!

Should have probably went with 3.15s! Anyway good deal and lucky find on the damage. Who knows where the rear would have failed at if you didn't do the swap.

Lmfao, that guy was killing me with the gear talk. Noticed he didn't answer my question about his RPM when he locks the verter vs unlocked..Anyway, I'm glad the carrier bearings are fixed, but both outer axle bearings need changing too. One is definitely bad, roaring like a ****. Just got get out there and do it. Hotter than 7 hells right now though. Way easier to just hook up to the boat, lol.

Whats the status on your favoh?

Yea, you have but this one is completely different than anything either of us is used to. The improvements that Ford has managed to pull off is pretty impressive. Did yall keep the SS?

The Camaro is getting traded when the GT comes in. They gave me a decent trade for the SS. Camaro was all Looks and engine. I just didn't like driving it. To much I didn't like about it.
