Your math is way off. Check these silly bastards out using 4.10s in this magazine article. They must not have any experience either.

Sorry but that article is 4+ years old and I wouldn't trust anything AM/Bama has to say. That article was done well before any testing was done. There's a reason Bama is called the Wal Mart of tuners.

But keep making yourself look bad. I'm rather enjoying this.

LOL a major company like bama and American muscle VS what you a "REAL PRO RACER" has to say. The only one looking stupid is you. But hey it's all a big trick so ford racing can sell their 3.55, 3.73,4.10, 4.56 gears! Ford must not have got your memo either that these gears do nothing..

Scott, your car is stalled, you can get away with a taller gear. We are all well aware that a higher stall gets you into the power quicker, multiplies torque, and/or basically does a lot of what a gear does off the line(minus the actual torque multiplication). OP is on the stock verter, therefore he needs all the help he can get. If he slaps some Mickeys on his car, goes to the track, stalls that stock verter up to a whatever sub 2K RPM it lets him stall it too, and dead hooks...are you seriously going to sit there and tell me that a 3.73 or 4.10 gear wouldn't improve his 60' AND ET over that set-up? I already know the answer to that.

Yes I am telling you that because it has been proven time and time again. Frankly I could care what you believe since I already know I along with many others have done the testing. Have you done any testing on one of these cars? Do you own one of these cars? The answer is of course no.

Your rocket ship is no different than any other car when it comes to gearing. Gearing isn't only about 1st gear anyway. But hey, somebody let Ford know that they are slowing their cars down by offering 3.31s over 3.15s in their automatics. I wonder if they even know about this theory of yours??

Like I said dude, thanks for stopping by and sharing. I feel preety good about ordering my 2015 Auto with the optional 3.55 gears despite all of your personal testing.

Bro, you realize you're going to waxed by all of the 3.15 cars right? The only reason Ford offers 3.55s is so that you run slower. Thought I knew you better, damn.

Screw it. I'm canceling my order and just getting another Chevy. The chevy 6L80 does benefit from a gear change unlike these ornery Fords 6R80s that will only run on a 3.15 gear.

Gonna play Devi's Advocate over here but I also heard the same thing about the 5.0's and Auto's. I can imagine it not effect the Camaro's as much due to their greater weight and wheel base but on a 11-15 5.0, especially with the IDR now, I can see why there may be a problem. Back when I wanted a 5.0 I just wanted to follow a "cookie cut out" mods list, and a lot of the guys I seen or chatted with indeed say the 3.15's were the ones with the best 1/4 mile times, maybe it had to do with their tire/stall combo but 4.10's weren't praised like I thought they would be.
