My Firmware Revision is 1.1.155, Tune Revision 1.1.0. I bought this thing in 2007/2008 and the tune I got was from American Muscle based on my computer's ID. It was a small performance tune and was free. Maybe that is the difference. A few months ago I contacted Bama Tunes and the guy I spoke with said he couldn't turn off the TCS with a tune. Um well I can turn mine off so that is not altogether true.

Maybe when you asked him he meant "he" can't turn it off. Like a liability issue or something?

I told him what I wanted in a tune which was inclusive of turning off the traction control and it was stated that turning off the traction control in the tune could not be done. I know its an option on mine so I'm wondering what the difference in my X3 is to the newer ones. I will not be getting rid of it though. One thought would be to put a time delay relay (using a 555 Timer chip or 741 Op Amp) to automatically turn off the TCS on vehicle start up.

Since I just ordered a Bama tuned SCT I want to clear this up. I requested the option to have TC turned off in my 2006 GT. Can they and will they seems to be in question. If it's done will I have the TX warning light on the tach?

I meant 'TC' warning light. Stupid iphone autocorrect. Anyway, i'd like to have the tune have TC off and still not have to look at the car icon. If possible.

My new SCT Tuner doesn't have the TC off option either. That is a disappointment. Sure all I have to do is hit a button but it just sucks to have to hit it every single time I start the car.

It would be nice to have TC on a 'hard' toggle switch, however, liability concerns seem to be the limiting factor.

Based on my very limited knowledge of the SJB and computer, I believe the TCS button is much like a soft switch. The setting is a 0 (off), 1 (on) and the computer remembers that until you turn the ignition off. More than likely there are program resets in the computer for defaults where its an option in the program to temporarily change it. Then the SCT comes along and reprograms the default to 0 (off) so when you start the car its already set. If you could get your hands on the software used to program the SCT, I bet you could program that option in there and be surprised what else could be programmed.
