Any point in buying a Tuner for a 2002 V6 Automatic?
I got a stock 2002 3.8l V6 Automatic convertible.
I am pretty new at this and I was wondering if I'd see any gain at all in term of throttle response or horse power or anything else at all, by getting a tuner?
I was thinking of getting this:

CAI + Tuner.
Anyone with a similar unmodded car, that would recommend/ not recommend getting a tuner?

There's a definite increase in performance and all around performance driveability. Like Mike said above, you get a decent increase just in firming and quickening up the shifts, alone. I think if you drive it before, flash it, and then drive it again - you'll really be happy with it. It's not a HUGE power gain, but that's just because these days they're detuned quite a bit more than 10 years ago and new technologies like Variable Cam and Drive-by-Wire make it really easy to manipulate a tune to feel much better.
We carry a ton of different intake/tuner combos from both SCT and Diablosport and offer Free Tunes for Life when you buy the device from us! Hit me up if you have any questions at all, or feel free to call a Bama Performance tuning specialist directly at the Bama direct number/hours listed in my signature below. They'll walk you through the process, get all the information they need from your car, help you flash the computer, etc.
Good luck!

I would suggest it.
I put a intake, tune and exhaust on my stock 04 V6 and it def made it more fun to drive. It no supercharger power levels by any means, but car winds up quicker, shifts better and overall more enjoyable to drive.

Late to the party on this but does this damage the auto transmission in any way? earlier tuners tended to damage overdrive trannys without physical upgrades. Been out of the loop for a few years on the automotive scene, so forgive my ignorance on the subject. I have an 04 V6 with a bought 125k/6 year warranty and don't want to give them an excuse to void it.

IMO its not worth it, as everybody has stated all you gain is a little transmission improvement, they really don't take much more timing than stock without detonating unless you want to start using 93 octane or meth injection, even then the power improvement isn't worth the extra cost of fuel
best bet would be to spend that money elsewhere, j-mod, trans cooler, suspension, etc...
