Default Turbo tuning?

Hey guys, when I have my turbo installed must I have it dyno tuned or can I just get it tuned without a dyno? I want 400hp currently at 250. I'm just wondering because I was told I could get it tuned without a dyno but would I know how much hp I'm making? Or is a dyno the beeter way to go for a tune when I have a turbo? And does anyone know any good places to get my car tuned in the Los Angeles area? Thanks

If you have a good wideband installed that you can datalog, a good tuner can dial it in remotely, but a dyno tune would be the best piece of advice I could offer.

Thanks

I was told it's not safe to run more than 6 psi on your stock ecu but would it be drivable at like 1 or 2 psi on your ecu untill tuned?

You can run 30 psi on the stock PCM if you really want
There is no such 6 psi limit what so ever

Is your car a 94 Cobra?
I have a good friend with a 94 GT, running a T76 with a nice turbo kit, and it runs 10 psi all day, using one of our Revolution Chips and a CMR custom tune.
As soon as he gets a real fuel system in the car, its getting converted to E85 and will see 15 psi at least

Go to RET in Downey to get your turbo mustang tuned. I use them exclusively, Greg is one of the better tuners in the country.
