OK, for my year it's way faster, against a great driver in an edge V6 it's a little faster, and for a new sn197 it's a hair bit faster. But point is, the 5.0 will yeild much more performance per mod than the 3.8L, plain and simple.

Yea, I agree, the 351 Cobra Rs weren't that much faster than the standard Cobras, plus add in the fact that they costed way more, and don't have a lot of mod options for them, they are really more of a collectors item than a serious fast car.

RE: 5.0 swap
yeah it's a no frills road race car that just happens to be somewhat collectable (though of all of them, the 95 is the cheapest from what ive seen)
by the way, 5.0's are nowhere near dogs and they have awesome aftermarket support that costs WAY less than both a 351 or 232 or na 140 for that matter, so if you're looking to build the crap out of a motor and the entire car for that matter, that would be a good reason to justify a 5.0 swap. if not, then you better have good hookups cause it'll cost a bit of money. btw i wouldn't mess with a vic or any non ho 5.0 because they have a different firing order, intake, and ****ty pistons. i'm with mr merk on the 2.3 turbo swap idea

^ I agree with Juggy, but I still say go for the Windsor. So much more potential than a 5.0LHO(not saying they dont have potential) and is just a bolt in operation after you get hte right oil pan. Besides, whats cooler? A 5.0L Fox, or a 351/5.8L Fox? Either way its an SBF, and thats all that matters

RE: 5.0 swap
too bad a 351 will need swap mounts that lower the engine or you'll need 5.0 mounts and a taller hood to clear the engine. you'll also need 351 swap headers. after that, i'm not sure what else is necessary, but it's not only an oil pan that you'd need.

RE: 5.0 swap
^Yea, aftermarket prices on 5.0Ls are cheap as hell, like an elderbrock, on some other aftermarket ported upper and lower intake ready for install cost only $450-$600 at the most, a V6 ported upper intake cost almost that by itself. OH, Buuuuuuuuullllllllllllllllssssssssshhhhhhhhhiiiiii iiiiitttttttttttttt, 5.0s are far from dogs, back in the day the older 5.0Ls were keeping up with Ferrais and other top notch race cars, it wasn't till the early 90s where they started to slip from the top, but since they're so cheap to mod you can turn a 5.0L into a power house for way less than you can a 4.6L or even a 3.8L.
