89 mustang 130 amp alternator upgrade
I just upgraded to a 130 amp alternater the other day and was wondering if it's normal for the amp gage to show a sudden discharge when the engine revs up past 2800 rpm. It's like the alternator kicks out. It also does it at low idle. I thought of putting on the pulley from my old alt. which is smaller in diameter, which would fix the at idle problem, but would make other problem worse. Has anyone encountered these problems when upgrading their alt.
