Cant rev pass 4k after drifting

RE: Cant rev pass 4k after drifting
Is it possible that my ecu may have lowered my rev limiter due to the great amount of stress that i was constantly putting on my engine while drifting?
Also can i seriously easily screw up my rear end and tranny by it? I know drifting is pretty stupid but its still pretty fun [IMG][/IMG]

it's pathetic that all you guys want to bash him for doing something that he likes. he came on here to ask why the car is doing something not get your opinions on what you think of drifting.
for Venkat
there is a program in the ECU to keep you from blowing the engine from excessive revving. but, the 3.8 in stock form is what i like to call indestructible. the stock rev limiter is well below the destruction point in RPMs. i think it is 5600 or around there. you could easily turn 6500 and still be good.

No the ecu will not trip out like that, bad sensor or broken part. YES you can easily blow out your rean end, tranny, or even fry your piston rings if you over do it.

So you're saying it's dead impossible to fry your piston rings if your "CONSTANTLY" doing stupid things. Well hell, if that's true, I'm gonna go out right now and run 150+ mph, my tires, tranny, engine, rear end should take it.
