no the rear will not crap out before the engine and neither will the tranny. where is all this BS about the 7.5 blowing out come from? probably from guy's installing gears and not having them done right.

my 7.5 with 150,000 mile 3.73's are fine on my 11 psi procharged 98 i even recently added a TA girdle but doubt i need it

as long as the car is tuned correctly the stock engine can handle well over 300 hp on stock internals. HP doesn't kille an engine. bad tunes or over revving kills the stocker.

believe me i know i lost an engine to a bad tune. my fault not the engine.

Justin at www.velocitymustangperformance.com had a TT on a stock splitport with over 300rwhp and no problems

the main weakness in the 7.5 is the spyders in the T-lok. they are small and are a target for breakage when the rear gears are installed improperly or without an install kit. this leads to misalignment of the gears and causes case flex which the spyders can't handle.

a proper install and breakin will hold up fine with the 7.5. it is just as strong as the GM 7.5 which is used on the Z-28 and T/A

i have crapped out both a 7.5 and an 8.8. both were stock from factory. on top of that, when using a t-lok you do not have spider gears. you are wrong again

yeah big deal i crapped out an 8.8 on a stock cobra. ya know what i have never crapped out a 7.5. and the T-lok does have spyders

here's a link with a great view of the spyder gears in the T-lok. gain some knowledge please
http://www.3.8mustang.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91329

seems to be spyders in there huh? mine looked exactly the same

when you post a link make sure what you are trying to prove is actually there. i don't see any pics of a t-lok. anyways, spider gears are found in open diffs and a t-lok is a limited slip. i hate when dumb people (cobra232) think they know everything. how much power does your v6 make to the wheels? my 7.5 crapped out at about 220 rwhp. it crapped out twice. once on the dyno and once doin a burnout. the 8.8 crapped out on a 3000 rpm launch and it was brand new.

the pics in the link i provided as posted by Wilderness on 3.8mustang are pics of a T-lok and the spyders are clearly visible.

i have currently an estimated 330rwhp in my procharged 98 with no issues with the 7.5

my first dyno only 226rwhp and 266ftlbs torque. with stock injectors and FMU turned all the way in. since then i have rebuilt the engine with ported heads and intakes, RPM 215/230 cam and 1.8's, ross 8.5:1 .030" over pistons, eagle H-beam rods, 42lb injectors,Pro-M univer MAF,SCT chip burned by Justin at VMP, MAC offroad H-pipe with Random technology superhighflo cats welded in, and a full tranny rebuild with 2500 converter and B&M shift kit
here's a pic of my first dyno. i haven't ran it on the dyno after the rebuild yet
http://www.mustangmods.com/data/8456/pics.2.jpg
click on the link i provided and look at the attached thumbnails you will see pics of the T-lok. i tried the link and it works and the pics are there

also here's a link of the ford factory catalog picture of the 7.5 T-lok. it certianly does have spyders in it.

cobra, that thing is totally different than what was in both my rearends. did they change models? all the limited slips in my car were clutch type i got from the dealership and the boxes said they were t-loks. that is weird. i don't know how or why your rearend or tranny have not died either. the t-5 tranny can only take so much before it goes to pieces.

it's my humble opinion that as long as you have a street car that you aren't launching very hard (especially dumping the clutch), 7.5 shouldn't be that bad. i know they aren't great, but part of the perpetuation of their weakness is just internet lore.

hey jugador, key word: street car. i broke mine first on the dyno and once doing a burnout. the 8.8 crapped out on a 3000 rpm launch and it was brand new. on a car with intake/exhaust it will be fine.
