Default wheels & tires, rear end gears

how much would my speedometer be off if i were to get mods such as different size rims & tires and rear end gears??
would it be a significant difference, or would it be okay in case i dont have enough money to buy a tuner, but still want to get these things??

I think only the gear will mess it up and it doesnt have a set speed its off. The faster you go the more it is off

is it real bad though or if your going like 70mph would it only be off like 3-5 mph or would it be like 10mph??
i could figure out which which way it was off and just drive according to that if its not off much.

All I know is on my Gt when it says I am going 90 im really going like 80 or so. After that speed it gets more and more off. If you do the gear do the speed calibrator. If your going to do it do it right! If you can afford it that is.[8D] I CANt haha

ha i guess that means i will probably need to get tuner somewhat close to the time i get my new rear end gears
if i am getting a 2000 v6 manual, which gears should i get(3.73, 4.10, etc.), and what is the difference in each.

I think you should do a 373 on a v6. If it was a v8 then 410. You can use the same rearend. A tuner will not fix the speedomoter problem my man! You have to buy that calibrator. I may be wrong but i am pretty sure.

it looks like most of the rear end gears are for 8.8 inch rears.
