More contact patch for better launches and cornering.

Agreed, it's only a good thing if you need the larger contact patch. Otherwise you are shooting yourself in the foot.

Well, im looking for traction first, then sexy second, kuz right now im running on bald stocks that are causing me to hydroplane and have a hard time turning in this wet "spring" weather. Also, i dont do much racing, but how much will they slow me down? I mean im really looking for sexy tires over speed efficient. Also with anlsd and some gears, and exhaust added on there will it improve alil? eventually i hope to s/c but not for about another year at most.

Big wheels and rubber in the rear only benfits you in appearence. Other than that, it creates more problems than solves. Unless you are pushing over 300 hp, dont tell me you need a wider print. Nice tires will fix this more than a wide wheel.

I'd go with a 9" wide rim at all four corners for any pure street driven mustang. It is MORE than wide enough, looks good and you can still rotate them front to rear for better wear.

I have Nitto 555r315/35's on Cobra 17x10.5's and I still spin the hell out of them.

Bigger rears do not help in hard cornering, if anything, they hurt, because they cause the front end to push through the turn. Equal width tires all around makes for superior cornering.
