I'm having the same issue with my 1994 Mustang 3.8L Conv where its making a clunking sound and I feel it in the floor board when going in reverse. I can even put the car in neutral and slowly push the car backwards and it will make the loud popping noise. Did you ever find out what it was or have any Ideas of what it could be?

I looked online with google and didnt find any answers to my problem, it doesnt stop when i apply the breakseither. any suggestions?

sounds like a tire rubbing check the insides see if there is any rubbing anything that has any paint rubbed off and is shiny worn etc. i had that issue and i found it was my tire rubbing on my swaybar
