What are the most common weight reduction swaps. Specifically in the nose/engine

I dunno how light you could get it, but I'd imagine if you relocated the battery to the trunk, removed the AC, removed the Power steering, you would save quite a bit of weight/get better distribution, but other than that, you'd need to do like tubular suspension components, k members, etc for more weigh reduction. You could also replace all that clear stuff that keeps stuff out of the car, and replace it with Lexan ro something. I read youc an save like 80 lbs in most cars (not SUV's, cars) by replacing the glass with lexan. A little expensive, but if you're going for weight reduction, you gotta pay the price. You can also do a rear seat delete, and remove the spare tire, but honestly, I would wait until you've got the battery relocated and more weight removed fromt ehfront before you do that, otherwise you're gonna have one damn nose heavy car.

There's a guy that goes by "BlueWaterDemon" or something like that on 3.8mustang who has a lot of weight-reduction type stuff done on his single-port. Couldn't hurt to ask him about it.

Depends how far your willing to go. if you get rid of your ac, your seats, your speakers, your sideview mirrors, your dash, air bags, console and allllll that. THEEEEN get carbon fiber interior, doors, hood, decklid, you could probably loose 600 pouds\

why would you replace the interior with CF if you're trying to save weight. THere's no piont in ripping everything out and then replacing it with CF unless you're going for the look, because its gonna be expensive and why remove stuff, and then add weight back, just gut the interior and leave it.

i have hered of a 2000 cobra R down around to 33 or 34 hundred lbs but that whas copletly guted W/ lexan and carben fiber panels

damn, 3300lbs gutted? how much does that damn motor weigh? Just for comparison, a TT 300ZX (those are heavy cars, weigh like 3500lbs stock) has a cast iron block and it only weighs that much. Gutted they can get down below 3000, how does a mustang (generally lightweight cars I always though, except when compared to miatas) weigh 3300lbs gutted...
