Default 98 vs. 99 V-6's

Ihave '96 V-6 with only 72,000 miles on it. I installed GT fog lamps, and most recently added 17" bullit rims off a 2006 with 245/45 tires.

I'm just wondering what changes Ford made to the 3.8 V-6 to increase the horsepower from 150 to 200. Can anyone help?

single port to split port,

better heads/upper intake manifold/slightly more agressive cam

They improved air flow by using a higher flowing throttle body, split port upper/lower intake, and better in flowing heads. 94-98s have a slightly more aggressive cam, and their heads have better air outflow, but the in flow isn't so great.

well if he knew how to hold the gas pedal to the floor he shouldnt have had any problem beating you

a manual transmission isnt going to compensate for a 40hp difference. maybe 10, but not 40

im still having a hard time believing that youre beating him without his car having serious problems.

he's gotta have at the least, exhaust backup or doesnt know where the gas pedal is[&:]
