ok so im planning to go with the dual exhaust but not sure of the set up. theres a guy selling factory mufflers and midpipes. and also a corsa x pipe. i was wondering if that was everything i needed to go duals? soo x pipe/midpipes/mufflers? just another exhaust question that i myself a newbie had. thanks for any input.

Well, I'll give you some choices but as far as setup, this is my personal opinion. I'd go long tube headers, either H pipe or no pipe at all, make the piping either 2.25 or 2.5 if you're planning to put boost to it and then either go flowmaster, dynomax, magnaflow or borla mufflers. minus the 02 sensors, exhaust gasket, etc., thats pretty much it.

I just finished my setup list for my 99 3.8 v6 auto. Here is what it is off the top of my head:

Mac long tube headers
relocate the O2 sensors
MIL eliminators
2.5 piping (im going forced induction later)
no cats
dynomax ultra flow welded mufflers
3 inch tips

Good luck!

P.S. An X pipe does NOTHING for our cars due to our even firing engine. You'd be wasting your time and money if you got it. If you must put some type of pipe there, put an H but me personally, I'm not putting anything. I'm going divorced duals.

x pipe is a midpipe FYI

you need a midpipe and a catback. or if you want to dump then just the flowtubes from te midpipe to the mufflers and you can dump them there

i just picked up a 2000 mustang, 3.8 auto...
i'm looking for a decent set of duals to put on it without changing headers.. i was thinking i can just cut off the y-pipe and get a new overaxle bent up for the other side.. and leave the one side thats already done.. just weld in some new mufflers.
depending on price.. i'd rather order a set of aftermarket duals.. what are some decent ones/reasonably priced?

well, i got my duals done for cheap. it was 300, and that got me 2.5" pipes to a flowmaster 40 series muffler, then 3" tips out the back. and thats done twice, so duals for $300. well i got turndowns which eliminate the tail pipe, and dump the exhaust right from the muffler, and added a h pipe. so i got that done for cheaper for about $275. back to my point. without changing the stock pipes, u wont get as much out of it as u would like. do it once, do it right.
