Default Re-alignment?

If I drop my car with -2" springs, will I need to get the car realigned? And I'm not sure exactly what CC plates do, but will I need those too? A guy I work with has a 97v8 lowered 2" and he said he never had it realigned and the tires wear fine and everything?

Mines a 98v6..

yes and yes. id throw in a bumpsteer kit and new ball joints while you are at it. then, youll be able to get perfectly centered, handle on rails.

Well then, will they need specific measurments since it wont be stock, or will they know what to do?

I'm poor, the kit and joints may be down the road...

they are adjustable, my friend. any decent mechanic that has an alignment rack should be able to measure it to get you dialed in properly.

i know the feeling, man. everytime i get ready to put some parts on my car (i have a whole slew of them sitting in my extra room), some kind of expense comes up, or business slows down. ive been wanting to get my suspension built for, like, months now. i remember when the economy was good.. sigh.

Yea, Im a white caucasian upper-middle class mal in med school, so I can't get squat...

I might not even do the drop now, because the extra expense of alignment and plates may be too much for me...

ive always said its better to save up and do everything right and get it done at the roght time, than not to do it. a lot of my friends are into "modding" cars, but that means intake, a fart can, and cut springs. then, when they have no real power, or when they are complaining about riding around on their bumpstops, or that their handling sucks, and they wanna do it right, then they start all over again.

try to have patience my friend. save up a lil extra cash, get it done at once. in the long run, youll be happier.

Lol, I have more patience than is good for me. I've put over 6k in my 67 so far and have never driven it. Maybe another 15k and it will be running...
