Exclamation Axleshaft...Please help...

Ok guys I need a new left rear axleshaft, mine is bent slightly. I called up my local auto parts stores and I cannot just get the axleshaft it self. They said I have to buy the whole kit and they want $400 bucks for it!!! My question is, is there somewhere I can get one just the axle it self since that's the only thing I need? What all is involved in changing it? Please help me out guys....

Thanks!!!

What is a whole kit? It's less than $200 from Ford.

Having lived in the Eastern Part of NC, you're gonna have problems unless you're looking for nascar parts.

Yea well I hate the people in my area, they all suck and are really fly-by-night mechanics and don't really know much of anything. I found one though on summitracing.com and it's $90. It's a OE replacement which is just want I wanted. Thanks for all your help guys.

BTW anyone got some good instructions on how to change this little bugger? It does not seem very hard to do...

jack the car up, remove wheel. UNbolt brake caliper bracket, remove rotor. Remove diff cover, push axle in towards the diff, remove c-clip with a magnet or needle nose pliers, slide out axle shaft. And then go in reverse.
