To answer a question from above. People like the 5.0 and performing, or looking into the swap, because of the extensive amount of parts there are availible for the 5.0, and the price for those parts is generally 3/4 that or less, for the same part on a new car, not to mention the 5.0 generally will make more power (aside from 4Vs). The 5.0 is a great engine, just got to set everything up right so that the block doesn't split once you hit 500 hp, which is very easy to hit, and is its only downside, however it can, and has been done to run easily and well above that, you just have to know what to look for and find somebody that knows how to tune them.

2) To the OP - don't waste your time. You have a nice new 4.0L V6. Don't throw money away at a beat up used 5.0L that makes the same power your car already has.
wait, you mean that a K&N CAI wont gain you an extra 5-10 HP over a no name aftermarket chinese slave market made CAI

as stated, dont waste your time, theres plenty of options to modify your 4.0 and still have a warrenty, pass inspection, and not spend lots of money for the same HP

How much you spending and how much power will you make?
And you know it's against a lot of regulations to put an older engine in a newer car right?

I think I covered the older engine into a new car thing

If you want to keep your mustang street legal you need to go with a current lineup engine.
