4.10's and T-Loc..
I'm new here and before I made an account I've been reading over the other posts about 4.10's on V6's. I have a 2008 V6 mustang with a couple additions, but I've been wanting gears for awhile since everyone says they give the best improvement to acceleration. I have one question before I order the parts, is T-Loc, (http://www.americanmuscle.com/ford-28spline-75-lsd.html) good to have with 4.10 gears? I'm not really familiar with what T-Loc is, I know it stops the car from doing 1-wheel burnouts, but is it really worth getting? What will I gain from getting the T-Loc?
Thanks,

this section is mainly for 3.8's not 4.0's but some guys here will give you some help cz I'm told you can't get much there. I dont have 4.10's or a tlock but the 4.10's should make a big difference in acceleration and you should upgrade to a posi unit when you do the gears to save money. a tlock is only okay and have been broken with not a lot of power out of 3.8's. I don't know what the offer but look into a detriot truetrac which is much stronger (if they make one). All in all I think your looking about $1,000 installed with the detroit unit and gears installed, maybe a lil more.

lol... s197 forum is probably useless for tech stuff
Anyways, if you do decide to go ahead and get gears (regardless of the ratio or differential), make sure you get a bearing kit, differential fluid, and if you get the t-lok, you'll need some friction modifier. Your speedometer will also be miscalculated. A handheld tuner would fix that and give you some extra power. Get the tuner from VMP if you decide to get one. The Detroit TrueTrac can be found at summitracing.com and the rest of the stuff can be bought at americanmuscle. Install price should be around $300.
