Somebody told me I should replace the seals in the caliper while I'm in there. How easy/hard is that? I'm getting ready to do rear rotors, brakes, and front brakes this weekend and I don't have any experience working on brakes but I plan on grabbing somebody who knows what they're doing to help. Thanks

Since the caliper slides side-to-side, if the sliding mechanism freezes up, the piston-side pad will wear very quickly. It was a mess when I took it apart, but my guess is that the previous pad changer neglected the high-temperature grease.

The brakes looked fine when I got the car 2 months before, but by the time I got home from my trip to RockyMountain National Park, the LR brake had ground through the pad backing plate almost to the piston!
