Default split port swap

finally got the project started. i have all the parts needed minus the modified fual rail, im sending mine out tomorrow to have it done. i am also going to paint the upper intake manifold black.

I highly recommend a round or two of seafoam through the intake to clean up those heads

Dont forget that you will need to have a 2nd boss drilled in the intake for the second water temp sending unit to the guage cluster, the one that is already on there is to the ECU and to turn the fan on.

Just take those intakes to the shop and have them tanked.

I cleaned mine by hand before I ported the crap out of it so it was like putting in a fresh new part.

If your cheap carb clearner does the trick very well but a tanking is cheap too, about 15-20 dollars per manifold.

I just like having CLEAN parts go back onto my projects.

I also cleaned and ported the heads while still on the engine, a vary labor filled job as to not get any aluminum shavings down past where I was porting, it took a lot of cloth packing, tape, skill and a vacuum.

I didnt just swap the heads and intake over though, I swapped the whole engine. Easier I think.

oh im sorry neotoky when you said tank the intakes i thought you meant like they were garbage get rid of them, i am absolutely going to be cleaning the **** out of them there is no way they go on my car looking the way they do.

and no that manifold is from a 99 mustang

some updated pics from today, have everything disassembled just have to wait for a local car parts store to call me when they get my head bolts in to start putting everything back together

in the meantime i'll be cleaning everything the best i can and painting the upper intake along with anything else i can to clean everything up
