Default pro charger and motor question

im starting research on the procharger for my car and i wanted to ask if there is any motor work that should be done, like stronger internals or any anything else?? im taking my time on this so if motor work is a good idea im willing to do it.

how much power are you trying to make?

It depends.

You can hit 400hp easily without having to worry about internals, 450hp has been done, it's all in proper tuning.

450 is pushing it. the agreed "safe" HP numbers for stock internals is 400 rwhp. anythign higher and its a gamble. yes it can be done. yes you might be able to get away without touching the internals, but its not for sure.

If you are running 350+ rwhp you will want to go for an 8.8... unless you want your gears to eat through the differential housing on your first launch at the track, or to have a bent axle.

your gears wont "eat" through your diff housing, and i highly doubt you will bend an axle, the first thing to go will be the spiders in the carrier, a detroit true trac w/girdle and a set of motive/ford gears and your 7.5 will handel 400 Ft lbs.
