Default Cam Syncro Replacement.

Alright guys, I've got to replace my Cam Syncro, I was wondering if anyone has done it or knows where to get the correct procedure to do it THE RIGHT way...

I've tried looking online with procedures with pictures nd stuff...but no avail.

Try Pming haystackstang, He helped me with my Camshaft Synchronizer replacement. Really nice guy. It was really Easy.

Its pretty much, buy the new part, unbolt the EGR pipe above the synchronizer, unbolt the washer that is holding it down, Mark where the Sync is pointing with white out or a marker, pull the sychronizer out, take (some sort of long rod attached to it off, idk what thats for) and attach it to new synchro, shove it back in having it point the same way as the old one(very important) bold everything back up. you're done.

The "long rod" is the oil pump intermediate shaft.

On a related subject... somewhere it got around that the fix for the P0340 code/whining/engine buck was to replace the alternator. This turns out to be as stupid of a fix as it seems. Don't ask me how I know.

Cam synchronizer from NAPA, part # 600-2900. Around $60 out the door and comes with a new cam position sensor and alignment tool.
