V6 swap to 460 Big Block
I am acquiring a 1995 Mustang for painting a house.. The motor is blown in it which is the v6 version. I am wanting to know how much of a pain it would be to swap in the big block.. I'm brand new to the mustang scene and v8 scene as well...

As a newbie, I'll inform you the BBF will be a boat anchor unless you really know what you're doing. And I'm going out on a limb here b/c you asked, I'm guessing you aren't too sure of what's going on.
There are several good options for motors to drop in. What are you going to be using the car for? Street? Drag? Road course?

well i know about 4 cyl imports.. mostly turbo talon's and eclipse. want something a little louder. the 95 was offered to me so i took it. my friend got a 460 he wants to sell me w/ a tranny for 300 bucks. i'm hoping to make this car do it all. i am wanting a car that can show well, handle, but still run a 11-12 second q.m. i keep saying the 460 wouldn't be feaseable for the handling and think i should get a 4.6 or 5.0 and he keeps saying it will be fine... though i'd check it out. see if a 460 was even a decent option for what i'm wanting to do.

there are actually a few people on here that have dropped a 460 into their mustangs but because the 460 does weigh so much it will really offset your weight balance, causing handling problems unless you can really tweak on the car's suspension and get a lot of the cars weight moved back some.
No doubt that 460 will have torque but factory they are not "high horsepower" engines. It'll need some internal work and tweaks to the fuel/ignition system to make it get some good power. I know "Horsepower" on Spike TV did a special on a budget build of a 460 for like $3000 and got around 500 hp/tq i think it was, so with a lil money in the right places you can have some fun. Personally I say go with the 460 and cram it in there and surprise people but that's just me.

exactly, more power potential. $3000 into a stock 460 in the right places and you can be at 500 hp and torque, seen it done and dyno'ed. if you got the know how and the tools you can do anything on the cheap

Less cubes with the right air will make enough for what he wants cheaper than more cubes.
Plus you still have the anchor of a BBF in the front to deal with moving, so power to weight comes into play along with being front heavy.
