Default Climate Control **** issue

Hi,

My climate control **** does not seem to work anymore on my 1996 V6 Ford Mustang.
Even though I switch it to Vent, Floor, Mix or AC, the air is still coming out like the setting is on defrost.

I checked my fuses, but did not see anything wrong.

Any ideas?

Thanks

In my 2001 i had the same problem and it was caused by a loose vacuum line in the engine bay; which leads into the car for the Climate Controls.

Thanks for the tip!
I will research a potential leak tomorrow morning when there is more light :-)

Ya it's a vacuum line. It defaults to defrost. On my old Contour it went out 3 times so I gave up on it.

Same thing happen to me. Under the hood, right next to the firewall on the drivers side there is a vacuum tree. Check the smallest line running into that tree, mine broke and caused the air to go to the defrost. I replaced that line and everthing went back to normal.

That was the problem, the vacuum line was not connected to the rubber connector anymore ...
What I did not know is that this is also used for the brake, I just had to use more force to apply the break on my way to Autozone.

Thanks
