Torque Converter
#2
A torque converter is inside the transmission. This allows you to stall your car to launch it in a drag race. Stock torque converters are usually in the 1800 rpm range, maybe a little more. By changing the torque converter to say 2500, you can stall the car at a higher RPM. The Jmod is a shift kit for the ford tranny. One of the best things you can do for the auto ford slush-box. Yes, all the components work together. The stall (torque) converter, helps by revving higher on launch, the jmod or shift kit shifts the tranny faster and smoother(sometimes harder depending on setting) for precision shifts.

The J-Mob is actually one of the best things that you can do for your transmission as it increases flow and helps to keep the tranny cooler and increases its life not to mention performance.
A highly recommended group of mods for V6 autos are as follows.
1.) J-Mod
2.) External Trans cooler
3.) Tuner

here's a write up if you feel mechanically adept or just want more info... http://www.tccoa.com/articles/tranny...ybusiness.html
Another option is to send in valve body to Steven at VAPauto and he'll clean it up, perform the mod, and send it back to you for $59. Best bet would be to find a used valve body (ebay, forum, junkyard). From what I here on 3.8mustang and v6power, he is great to do business with...

unless you forget to put it in and can't figure out why the car isn't moving... like my friend did, lol, but yeah I never mentioned what pieces the torque converter connected to on either side cause i figured people would know that much... guess i give people to much credit huh
