Default Drivetrain groaning sound

Hi, first time poster here, just wondering if anyone could shed a little insight on my situation to maybe save me some time and hassle (and repair bills). When driving at low speeds in first gear (at RPMs in the 1k-2k range, most prevalent when driving in parking lots), there is a loud groaning noise that seems to be coming from my drivetrain. In higher gears or faster speeds I don't detect the noise at all. If I press down the clutch the noise goes away. I don't really know how to explain the noise other than it's something like a low groan/whining kind of sound. I'm changing the tranny and rear diff fluid today so hopefully that'll help, but if anyone has other ideas I'd sure like to hear them. Thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry, I should also note that it doesn't seem to affect performance at all. Outside of the sound there isn't really anything to indicate a problem.

Sounds like it could be a synchro issue, but usually that only makes you grind when shifting

Boost:
Throw out bearing is a possibility though the entire clutch was replaced about a year ago so I'm really hoping that's not it.

Ryans:
There is no noticeable issue with shifting, and really nothing performance wise to speak of so I'd have a hard time placing my money on a synchro issue. Furthermore, the groaning sound I'm referring to is definitely not a grind, so I don't suspect anything in the gear system. As the transmission goes, the input and/or output shafts would be my only ideas, but again the lack of other physical driving symptoms besides the noise makes me suspicious of that.

Good thoughts though guys...any information anyone has will help so keep 'em coming.
