Ok so i bought a red 04 mustang hood scoop of a gt that was wrecked in a rear end collision so it cost me 100 shipped from mps auto salvage so im going to get it painted metallic silver to match but my question is since the 99-01 hoods don't have the pre-drilled holes whats the best way to go about installing this, i have seen a bunch of install diagrams but non for a 99 or 00, so could someone help me out and let me know what the best way to go about doing this would be, i know it has 11 holes but what is aligned where? also i bought the matte black hood decal from american muscle i can't wait to get that on, it will make the hood look so sick with my mach 1 chin spoiler and new gt fog lights!! thanks for all the help guys, love this forum!!

The rear two holes have little circles in the underside of the hood. what i did was take a piece of cardboard and press the bolts down into it so they left holes. this made a drilling template for the hood. double check it all lines up with the under section of the hood and start drilling. good luck!

thanks bro i appreciate the help i cant wait to get it painted and get this bad boy on there, and should i put the hood scoop on first or the hood decal??

I did the decal first...months before. But it's easier to do the scoop first, since you won't have do to any cutting

if i do the scoop first though wont it be harder to do the decal since ill have to slide it under the scoop or am i wrong with how i install it with the scoop?

Look at the install instructions on American Muscle. It's meant to meet the contours of the GT's hood scoop, so as long as you just make it touch the scoop it fits perfectly.

ok thanks guys, everything comes thursday, my hood scoop, my hood decal, my new radio bezel (old paint is fading) and my fog light button!!! can't wait, going to be a busy day, hopefully i can finish it all in between classes lol ill post pics when i finish, but ill prolly have to wait until monday for my hood scoop to be finished painting, poop!
