Planning on totally re-doing suspension....

alright bringing this thread back to life a little. contacted MM today, dude suggested that i dont go with coilovers for the rear because they will make too much noise going up driveways and such. they suggested 250lbs/inch for the front and supposedly for the rears with coilovers you are supposed to go 100lbs less for the rear. the car isnt a DD so i dont think it would be too bad to get the coilovers for the rear, what do you guys think? input on noise from rear coilovers?

btw, if you don't mind the extra weight you should think about an IRS.
One of the things I hate with an SRA is the side step or walk it has when you hit certain bumps, it makes the care momentarily unstable in the rear.
The IRS doesn't do that.
Also if you run wider wheels in the rear the wheels will tuck up under the fender as the suspension squats just like the front IFS, the same SRA setup may hit the fender, cutting into the tire sidewall or worse, doing damage to the fender.
You can lighten the IRS too with coil overs, tubular upper and lowers, lighter rotors as well as drilled and backcut gears.

yeah thats what i was thinking, i guess i kinda screwed up and told him that it would be mainly driven on the street and if i take it anywhere it would be to the strip, but i kinda want to experiment with auto x and a track that isnt too far away, so i think im going with coilovers regardless. And i dont care about noise really either, getting longtubes soon anyways so that should take care of some of the suspension noise

oh and neo, i toyed with the idea of irs but its too expensive to swap in everything plus changing my exhaust and everything, too much headache, plus sra is better for the drag strip and i will be doing that the most as far as legally having fun, so im just going to go with a sra
