Gotta replace balljoints?...rent the puller!!!
replaced the balljoints on my 96 today,After getting estimates from $350-$520 I decided to price things out.
OEM balljoints-$26.00 x2
23 piece U joint Puller on loan from Advance Auto-$159, but you get the 159 back when returned.
I could not imagine trying to do this job with the ole fork and hammer,my brother even made the comment that the kit was bad azz.
Had planned for this adventure to take most of the day but the puller mad life so much nicer. In total it took 3 hours to complete both sides.
So if you have to replace balljoints definitely get the kit from the auto parts store.

good job on working on your car yourself and not paying someone else to do it. i bet that kit made it much easier, my dad showed me what he called "how we did it in the old days" way of removing the ball joints in my neon, and lets just say that it was a pain. ill never remove ball joints without one of those kits again, im sure

When I changed to cobra arms, I upgraded to steeda x2s. Getting the old ones out was easy... a few knocks and voila!!! I was having two tires mounted/balanced on some bmw wheels I have, so I took the arms and steedas with me, the tire guy pressed them in for free whilst doing my tires.

hmm not a bad price, i dont always trust harbor freight stuff though, supposedly made pretty cheap. we have a race jack from them though and its held up for about 6 months, but my dad has an industrial jack from the 70s or 80s that is awesome and still works well
