Default ABS and staggered wheels

i found a set of 16" pony wheels form a sn 95 gt with 225/65(i think) on rear and 205/50 on the front for $125 and i needed a new tire (nail through the sidewall, boy am i skilled) so i could blow $100 on a tire or get wheels/tires for $125 ANYWAYS i like the staggered look but what do i need to do to recalabrate so my ABS will work? is it a ford dealer thing?

don't worry about it, you can do whatever you want and the abs will be fine. It doesn't care what's mounted to the hubs, it just reads the tone rings.

i was asking cause the ABS light did come on, it reads the rings in relation to the other wheels so it thinks the back wheels are skidding all the time and disabled it self. the abs computer needs new input parameters to make it function properly with larger diameter wheels on the back than the front. does the factory have to do this?

If the rear tires are shorter than the front then it WILL cause it to act funny, I also learned the hard way, just turn off your Trac. Control and it will be fine

Why do you want to keep your ABS? I used to have it on my car until I messed up the rear sensors, so I just cut all the cords. ABS ligth is on but I dont mind.

My truck has it and I hate it. Makes a retarded grinding noise when engaged and doesnt help it stop any faster.

Sorry for misreading you statement sir :/ I had a problem with Mine activating traction control and ABS with different sized tires. And it didn't do it when I turned Trac. Control off.

Take it to a shop and have them read the ABS codes. Some auto parts stores have scanners that will read ABS codes that you can borrow/rent. Call around. With the code it will help pinpoint where the problem is instead of guessing. Could be something as simple as a damaged sensor or gummed up tone rings.

When you said staggered, that typically means different WIDTH front and rear, not height.
