deciding on shocks and struts
alright guys, im about to start ordering some of my suspension parts. im looking into buying the shocks and struts first and then going from there and ive narrowed it down to two, tokico iluminas that are 5 way adjustable or the tokico d-spec, which i think are supposed to have even more adjustment. heres the thing, i can get a pretty good deal on the iluminas, are the d-specs that much better or do you guys think ill be alright with the iluminas?
oh, and what spring rate do you guys recommend? i plan on calling MM anyways to see what they recommend, but i wanted to see what you guys think too. I want a spring that can do basically everything, but the car will mostly be driven on the street, so i dont care about a soft spring for drag racing too much.
thanks everyone!

^Haha...nice sig! I've read bad reviews for the d-specs and heard they are not worth the $$$. Im in the same boat looking for a drop with springs and shocks. I've read Koni's are good, but $$$. I take it from your sig that yours in not going to be daily driven?

no lol. the front end package im getting from MM is compatable with the koni/tokico struts so i figured i was just going to keep things simple. ill look into those though but im trying to see if i can build this on a budget, i want to see how much money im gonna save in the end by shopping around a little bit

well after much looking around i think im going to go with koni single adjustables, just because im new to all the suspension stuff and i dont want to get into complicated adjustments just yet. ill learn a little from the koni's and i may decide to get better koni's later on. still need to figure out a good spring rate, ill probably just call MM today because i want to get these ordered tonight i think before the discounts go away on the 31st. ordering most of it from stangsuspension.com btw if anyone was interested, they are back in business now i guess

Good choice, caught this thread late but I do NOT have a good experience with tokicos, I wish I would've waited and spent the extra money on konis. They warned me the ride quality would suck, but each small crack or bump in he road feels like a pothole. Handling is superb, but it makes my car feel like its falling apart.
