Here's pic of my stock Harmonic Balancer. I will try to get a shot of the new one on the car, it's hard to take a picture because of how far down it is, can't see clearly behind the crank pulley.

I believe thats the counterweight (for external balanced) on the "raised" part to the right near the gears, correct? I believe the new one had this too, but now I'm second guessing myself so I'm going to try and check it out best I can tomorrow morning from the engine bay.

Good information being passed back and forth here to figure it out. A quick, interesting education for me. I hope things end up even better than what you hope. I'm interested to find out.

You have a 99-00 dampener there.

Since the link I posted went bad here is one of the 99-early 00.

Oh, I found your CL ad for $3500 :P

Thanks yeah I saw that same dampener pic when I looked at motoblue's product page. Yeah I knew it was the previous 99 to 00, called up ford today and they said they sent me the wrong one even after I explained to them the differences between early and late 2000's lol... guy didn't listen to me. Then he looked thru today and saw there was two listings for the HB so they're going to refund me.

Yeah I hope that fixes it.
You really ought to change mechanics though if he was so blind as not to double check the part. If you look at them you will not mix them up.

Sounds like he just wanted some extra money from ya.

btw, see if you can get your mechanic to own up for not checking the part and to put it in for you for free.

If he doesnt take him to the BBB for miss leading you about a supposed problem with your motor.

Thanks, the reason I haven't blamed him is because he's been a family-friend mechanic to our family. But you're right he mislead me to almost fix something completely unnecessary. And that led dash light mod will be the first I do when I get the car back!
